Stewart Dunn will generously be bringing some of his Kre8.com robot kits with him, and is looking for people who want to try their hand at building them and then hooking them up to an Arduino to make them autonomous. Either bring your own Arduino, or you can use one of the ones that Tinker.it will be supplying on the day (and then buy it if you want to keep it at the end)
From Stewart's description on the main page:
Stewart Dunn will bring along 6 simple plastic kits (make in 1/2 hour) to anybody who wants one to make a simple robot (then make it dance etc)
[The idea being to assemble a simple construction kit robot (about 20cm x 14cm) with two 6V dc motors and then add an Arduino to it - this could be done individually or as a group]
Add your name to this page if you want to join the team, and maybe start to brainstorm ways in which you can make the robots "intelligent". We'll look to get a collection of sensors together to use on the day, but if anyone has any specific ideas then we can make sure the right parts get brought.

You can find instructions etc at www.kre8.com Click on SITEMAP (TOP RIGHT ) then on the sitemap page there are two references to CLEVERBOT - one using hand controller and another using the IQ controller. Each will reveal pages showing lots of details, parts list, how to make, movie etc. will also bring box of odds and ends so you can modify etc. PLEASE bring snips or side cutters or sharp scissors so you can cut parts to size as you want.

I'm interested in bug antennae (like this? http://www.instructables.com/id/E6VPT5HCIGETVPKNIO/) and sound detection.
I had one of these in my Arduino kit (http://canada.newark.com/jsp/search/productdetail.jsp?sku=96K6091&_requestid=123418) is that something I can use for sound detection?
Another thought leading on from that first instructables link is that I bought a furby in a car boot sale last week. Other than a single solitary "ooooooooohhh" it appears to be mute, so maybe we could try a hijack on it using its various sensors to control the robot kit?

For the bug antennae I was thinking we'd use something like http://www.tombot.net/beam/guitar_sensor.html which uses a guitar string. I'll be buying a couple of strings this afternoon in case anyone wants to try it.
