Arduino powered clock device

I want to create an arduino powered clock thing, it won't be showing the time. I have an existing old clock to build on. I don't have any electronics or skills but I'm intending to get hold of some stepper motors out of an old floppy drive or something like that.

-sounds like fun I'm hoping you can get this up and running, it will be well cool if you can (I'll have a few extra l293 chips (if you can only find 4 wire stepper motors) or better ULN 2803 if you can find 5 6 or 8 wire motors.)
